Veolia Day - Visit of Bahrain Bay Utilities

FCCIB in partnership with Veolia Middle East, organized a site visit of Veolia Plant, yesterday in Bahrain Bay Utilities.

More than 70 attendees joined us for this networking cocktail-lunch and site visit. The meeting was attended by HE Mrs. Cécile Longé, Ambassador of France to Bahrain, Mr. Jean-Christophe Durand, President of FCCIB, HE Mr. Amin El Sharkawi, UN Resident Coordinator & UNDP Resident Representative, the Board of FCCIB members of Bahrain Businesswomen Society as well as many other VIPs, members and guests.

The attendees enjoyed the insightful conference delivered by Mr. Sébastien Chauvin, CEO of Veolia Middle East, Mr. Alexandre Cagnoli, Project and Business Development Manager, Saudi Arabia, and Mr. Jean-Marc Bazart, General Manager, Veolia Energy Gulf countries. They presented the French Company’s activities and projects in Bahrain and the GCC in General.

Veolia provides innovative environmental solutions in Energy, Water and Waste Management, with new growth models, more efficient, better balanced and more sustainable.
In their operations in Bahrain Bay, Veolia combines their expertise in desalination, district cooling, waste water treatment and reuse. 
Their plant aims at making the very most of local resources and minimize the environmental impact by reducing both fossil fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emission.

The presentations were followed by a lively Q&A session and the site visit of the District cooling plant as well as the Wastewater treatment plant. Numerous topics were discussed, such as the Government's initiatives towards greener energy and the environmental awareness of the local population.
