Three new ministers named in cabinet reshuffle

MANAMA: Just three new ministers have been named in a Cabinet reshuffle yesterday.

His Majesty King Hamad issued a Royal Decree forming the Cabinet headed by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

He also appointed His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, as First Deputy Premier.

The other four deputy prime ministers retained their posts.

The Cabinet, as before, consists of 18 ministers.

The new ministers are: Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy; Major General Abdulla bin Hassan Al Nuaimi, Minister of Defence Affairs; and Ayman Tawfiq Almoayyed, Minister of Youth and Sports.

The Prime Minister shall implement the decree, which shall come into effect from the date of its issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.

Before his appointment as the finance minister, Shaikh Salman served as chief of staff to the Crown Prince and director general of the Office of the First Deputy Prime Minister.
