H.E. Mrs. Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development, met with members of FCCIB to discuss the private sector's role in fostering sustainability in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Her Excellency Mrs. Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development, affirmed the depth of bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of France in various fields, noting the role of chambers of commerce in supporting and assisting institutions in line with efforts to achieve sustainable development goals. Her Excellency also noted the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to diversify its economic base, through its commitment to strengthening partnership with the private sector, and its continued encouragement of entrepreneurship and innovation, in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
Mr. Jean-Christophe Durand, President of FCCIB, in the presence of Mr. Jamal Fakhro, Vice President of FCCIB, stressed FCCIB's commitment of continuing to join efforts and consolidating ways of cooperation in various sectors, praising the progress and development that the Kingdom of Bahrain is witnessing in various fields, especially with regard to achieving sustainable development goals.
The meeting was also attended by members of FCCIB, representing leading institutions in Bahrain: KPMG Bahrain, BNP Paribas, Fives Services Gulf, YK Almoayyed & Sons, Majid Al Futtaim Group - Carrefour, UNEECO, Unanime, Safeer Renewables, who shared insights on their projects, challenges, and sustainable practices.
During the meeting, the Minister praised the initiatives of institutions aimed at achieving sustainable development goals, by developing strategies to implement the best environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) practices, in addition to implementing initiatives that are in line with the commitment to reach net-zero and adopt renewable energy.
