FCCIB organized a Panel Discussion & Networking Luncheon on Sustainable Development in the Kingdom of Bahrain

The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bahrain, FCCIB, organized a Panel Discussion on Sustainable Development in Bahrain, sponsored by Aluminium Bahrain, Comsip Al A’ali and National Bank of Bahrain, which took place on 23rd November at Gulf Convention Center.

The panel discussion, moderated by Mr. Hisham Abu Alfateh, gathered distinguished panelists:
·        H.E. Mrs. Noor bint Ali Al Khulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development, Kingdom of Bahrain
·        Mr. Ali Al-Baqali, CEO of Aluminium Bahrain (Alba)
·        Mrs. Dana Buheji, Group Chief Human Resources & Sustainability Officer at NBB

H.E. Mrs. Noor bint Ali Al Khulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development, presented the newly created Ministry of Sustainable Development and its current areas of focus in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Her Excellency emphasized the importance of the partnership and leadership of the private sector to pursue the efforts made towards Bahrain’s long commitment to sustainability.

Mr. Ali Al Baqali, CEO of Aluminium Bahrain shared Alba’s experience in the Safety, Health and Environment, and provided insights into how Alba and other local companies can contribute to Bahrain’s Net Zero Emissions by 2060.

Mrs. Dana Buheji, Group Chief Human Resources & Sustainability Officer at NBB shared with the audience where NBB, which efforts have been regionally and internationally recognised through ESG awarding bodies, stands with regards to adapting to the National Sustainability framework as part of the Vision 2030.

The panel discussion was followed by an insightful presentation from Mr. Aurelien Chaussy, Managing Director of Comsip Al A’ali who shared the company’s commitments in terms of Sustainable Development, the actions that can be taken at company level and how Comsip Al A'Ali can support its customers to reach their Sustainable goals.

The panel discussion, followed by a networking luncheon, took place in presence of H.E. Mr. Jérôme Cauchard, Ambassador of France to Bahrain, Mr. Jean-Christophe Durand, President of FCCIB, Mrs. Rim Jalali, Executive Director of FCCIB and members and guests of FCCIB, Aluminium Bahrain, Comsip Al A’ali and NBB.
