FCCIB and Tamkeen co-organised an ‘Orientation’ Forum at Downtown Rotana
FCCIB and Tamkeen co-organised an ‘Orientation’ Forum on 29th April, at Downtown Rotana, aimed at presenting the solutions and programs Tamkeen can offer to local and international companies in Bahrain.
The forum was open by Tamkeen’s Acting Executive Director, Mr. Esam Hammad, followed by Mr. Waleed Kanoo, Vice-President of FCCIB, who presented the Chamber and its connection with Tamkeen. Mr. Hussain Al Madeh, Managing Director of the French Company Fives Group and member of FCCIB presented then the Success Story of his collaboration with Tamkeen, through an International Internship Program intended for fresh engineering graduates without prior work experience.
FCCIB was honoured to count on the presence of H.E. Cecile Longe, Ambassodor of France to Bahrain.
The forum gathered around 40 VIPS, members and guests, who were all pleasantly surprised by all the programmes offered by Tamkeen.
What is Tamkeen?
Tamkeen is a semi-governmental organization in Bahrain, established in 2006 under Law Number (57) as part of the country’s national reform initiatives. Tamkeen is tasked with making the private sector the key driver of economic development.
Tamkeen’s mandate revolves mainly around developing Bahrainis to allow for their effective competition in the labour market. Additionally, drive increased productivity and efficiency among businesses, and simultaneously help generate value-added job opportunities in the Kingdom.
Tamkeen has launched over 200 programs and initiatives focused on areas such as funding and financing, skill and career progression, customized employment schemes, and entrepreneurship exposure, amongst many others.
Today, Tamkeen plays an impactful, distinct and critical role in the national economic development’s landscape, having served over 140,000 Bahrainis and businesses.
