EDB and Mumtalakat boards are restructured

MANAMA: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Economic Development Board (EDB) Chairman yesterday issued three edicts restructuring the Bahrain Mumtalakat

Holding Company board chaired by Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, restructuring EDB and appointing Khalid Humaidan as its new chief executive from September 1.

New EDB board members for a four-year term are the Finance and National Economy Minister, the Transportation and Telecommunications Minister, the Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister, the Crown Prince’s Court adviser for political and economic affairs, the chief executive, Mumtalakat CEO, Samer Al Jishi and Elham Hassan.

The edict shall take effect from the date of its issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette.

Mumtalakat board later announced the appointment of Khalid Al Rumaihi as its CEO and thanked outgoing CEO Mahmood Al Kooheji for his efforts during the past years in which the global markets were unstable.
