VAT solutions in spotlight at forum

Held at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel and Spa, the conference was mainly for the benefit of MicroCenter’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) customers.

The main presentation about VAT was delivered by KPMG in Bahrain head of indirect tax Philippe Norré who spoke about latest developments on the upcoming implementation of VAT in the kingdom, along with measures that are required by the organisations to undertake the massive change in business processes.

MicroCenter general manager and chief operating officer R D Ranjan spoke about the company’s 33-year history as a specialist in IT business solutions, geographical information systems (GIS) and related survey, smart card solutions and specialised GIS and ERP training.

It is also an Oracle Gold Partner, Microsoft Silver Partner and the sole distributor of Esri and Trimble mapping devices in Bahrain. The company’s business consultants explained about the provision of VAT tax engine and VAT readiness status in MCA eBiz, an Oracle-based ERP solution developed by MicroCenter.

The solution incorporates latest business intelligence tools.

The event also saw a technology expert from Oracle speaking about various technical aspects of Oracle cloud technology and tools that could be effectively used to make deployment of the MCA eBiz simpler and more flexible.

Micro Training Center, a subsidiary of MicroCenter, also made presentations about ERP, VAT and GIS courses offered by it.
