Bahrain Credit signs digital banking deal

MANAMA: Bahrain Credit, part of Bahrain Commercial Facilities Company, is planning to convert its retail digital banking business into an omnichannel platform with the signing of a multi-year contract with India-based Clayfin and Computer World.

Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Clayfin’s Retail Digital Banking solution aims to integrate Internet banking and mobile banking into the bank’s current offering, to help the bank improve customer engagement and enhance upsell and cross-sell opportunities.

Clayfin has partnered with Computer World, a Microsoft partner in the region, to host the solution on the Azure cloud platform.

Bahrain Commercial Facilities Company chief executive Dr Adel Hubail said, “As part of our digital transformation strategy we wanted to use technology to challenge the way retail credit business is done in Bahrain. And we needed a strong digital banking experience partner like Clayfin to accelerate transformation initiatives and change the way we do business.”

According to Clayfin’s chief executive Kannan Ramasamy, it was a matter of pride for the company to be chosen by Bahrain Credit as a partner of choice to power its digital transformation by “using unique customer experiences to retain leadership and staying ahead of the curve in Bahrain”.
