Switchgear maker signs key agreement with L&T

MANAMA: Unique Power Switchgears, a subsidiary of Universal Electro-Engineering (Uneeco), has signed an authorised panel builder agreement with L&T, India’s largest manufacturer of low voltage switchgear and controlgear.

The agreement authorises Unique Power Switchgears to build panels fully compliant with the latest International Electrotechnical Commission Standards.

To mark the occasion, Unique Power Switchgears chairman and managing director Abdulrahman M Juma received Indian Ambassador Alok Kumar Sinha on a tour of the company’s factory in BIIP Industrial Area, Hidd.

A statement by the company said the panels had been tested and certified by Association of Short-Circuit Authorities, an international testing authority.

Unique Power Switchgears is a six-year-old company that was exclusively set up for manufacturing and marketing L&T Switchgear products.

L&T’s quality management system for design, development, production, marketing and servicing has received ISO 9001 certification from BVQI, UK.

L&T switchgear has a proven performance record in Indian as well as tropical conditions. It withstands adverse factors like wide voltage fluctuations, excessive humidity, dust and high ambient temperature. Products are also specifically designed to meet typical climate requirements.

For the third consecutive year, L&T has awarded Unique Power Switchgears the best performer of the year for the Gulf Region.

Overall sale of L&T Panels and other products have touched $3.5 million in 2017.

Uneeco is currently Bahrain’s representative of international brands such as Schneider Electric, The Saudi Transformers, Al-Ahleia Switchgear, Raychem, Socomec, Stahl, Cembre, El Measure, Eaton, L&T Switchgear, Rishabh, Danfoss, Fuji Electric and Sharp.
