Robert De Niro to open hotel in Bahrain
MANAMA: A hotel chain owned by Hollywood actor Robert De Niro looks set to open a property in Bahrain.
The Nobu Hotels website already lists Nobu Hotel Bahrain as a forthcoming addition to its portfolio.
It is listed along with other new hotels planned for Atlanta, in the US, Sao Paulo, in Brazil, and Toronto, in Canada.
The group already has a 134-room hotel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Reports suggest Nobu Hotel Bahrain will open next year, although there has been no official announcement by the company.
“We will make the announcement once we have more details on this project,” said a group spokeswoman.
Nobu is famous for its Japanese restaurants, which are the result of a collaboration between chef Nobu Matsuhisa and Robert De Niro.
They first opened a Nobu restaurant in New York in 1994, while the brand’s first hotel opened in Las Vegas in 2013.
