NIHR discusses cooperation with embassies in Bahrain
Manama, Sept. 22 (BNA): The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Chairperson Maria Khoury, held a virtual meeting with Italian Ambassador Paola Amade, German Ambassador Kai Boeckmann, and French Ambassador Jérôme Cauchard.
Khoury noted NIHR’s role in the national plan for human rights in coordinating with Foreign Affairs Ministry and the legislative branch, to promote, develop, and protect human rights.
She highlighted the efforts made by the NIHR during the pandemic to inform citizens and residents through informations, tweets, and the institution’s visits and follow ups to isolation and quarantine centers to monitor the procedures taken by the authorities that provide medical services to infected patients.
The ambassadors to the Kingdom expressed their appreciation for the efforts made by NIHR to promote human rights in the Kingdom.
They praised Bahrain’s efforts to promote peace in the region, stressing their readiness to support the institute to achieve its goals.
