MANAMA: Work on a $55 million capacity expansion project at Bahrain-based Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill Company (GARMCO) is on track with the first cast expected in July this year and a gradual ramp-up towards full commissioning by the end of November, it has emerged.
A statement issued after Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat) chief executive Mahmood Al Kooheji visited the project site to review progress said the new facility will increase Garmco’s production capacity by 120,000 tonnes of aluminium slabs per annum.
Mr Al Kooheji was accompanied by Garmco chairman Mahmood Al Soufi, acting chief executive Mohamed Essa and Garmco board members.
