Forum focus on women engineers

MANAMA: A major engineers’ forum will highlight Bahraini women engineers’ crucial role in the kingdom’s development process.

Bahrain Female Engineers Forum will be organised by National Oil and Gas Authority (Noga) under the patronage of Oil Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa on Tuesday, on the sidelines of the Middle East Process Engineering Conference – MEPEC 2017.

A number of leading women engineers in governmental institutions, oil and industrial companies and official and civil authorities will attend. The forum follows the Supreme Council for Women’s appeal to dedicate Bahrain Women’s Day this year to Bahraini women engineers.

Shaikh Mohammed praised Supreme Council for Women (SCW) president Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa’s support to Bahraini women engineers in public and private sectors. He stressed the oil and industrial sector in Bahrain employs many women leaders, who are working diligently to achieve further prosperity. He also commended SCW’s role in providing full support and empowering Bahraini women at all levels.

The forum will also shed light on challenges facing Bahraini women engineers, their future and strategies to enhance their presence and progress in the engineering industry.
