EDB push to attract foreign investment

MANAMA: Key officials at the Economic Development Board (EDB) discussed ways of co-operation with the Foreign Investors Association (FIA) and how to benefit from the association’s experience in promoting Bahrain, during a meeting held at the EDB.

The FIA delegation was led by chairman Fadi Al Majali and included board members, whereas the EDB team was headed by managing director Dr Simon Galpin and included officials.

Dr Galpin stressed that EDB is working closely and effectively with all relevant entities in the public and private sectors in Bahrain to discuss ways of co-operation to achieve its role in promoting Bahrain’s attractive investment climate and as the ideal gateway to the Gulf market, emphasising EDB’s efforts to attract more investments.

Mr Al Majali said the association is keen to promote Bahrain overseas to attract more investments and to create an economic entity capable of contributing positively in serving the investors and investments in Bahrain, through the co-operation and co-ordination with Economic Development Board and all competent entities.

During the meeting, Lina Mubarak, board member at the Foreign Investors Association, presented an overview about the association’s vision, mission, objectives, achievements and future plans, and its contribution in attracting many foreign investments.

Both parties expressed eagerness to co-operate and exchange experiences to contribute to the economic growth of Bahrain by attracting more foreign investment and creating new opportunities for investors and removing all obstacles that may face them.
