A delegation of FCCIB Members visited Al Dur Power & Water Plant

25 representatives and members of FCCIB, accompanied by Mrs Rim Jalali, the Executive Director of the Chamber, had the opportunity to visit Al Dur Power & Water Plant’s on 17th February, 2020, received by CEO Mr. Jürgen De Vyt, and Chief Financial Officer Mr. Hussain Ali Haji Ali. HE Jerome CAUCHARD, Ambassador of France in Bahrain honored the delegation with his participation to the visit.

Al Dur Power & Water Company is the largest power generation and water desalination company in Bahrain. The plant accounts for one-third of the country's power and water production with a combined capacity of 1,234 MW of power and 48 MIGD of water. The right to develop, finance and operate the project was awarded in 2008 by the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA). Al Dur is owned by Engie SA (45%), the Gulf Investment Corporation GSC (25%), the Social Insurance Organization (10%), Al Dur Energy Investment Company (15%) and Al Dur Invest Company (5%)

During the visit, the delegation was briefed about Al Dur Power & Water Plant accomplishments over the last 12 years as well as the plant’s administrative, financial and technical features.

The delegation was then conveyed to a guided tour around the facilities.
