Networking Luncheon with H.E. Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Alkhalifa, President of Customs Affairs
FCCIB, the French Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Bahrain, successfully hosted a Conference & Networking Luncheon on Monday 16 February, featuring H.E. Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Alkhalifa, President of Customs Affairs, as guest speaker.
After an introduction by FCCIB President, Jean-Christophe Durand, H.E. Shaikh Ahmed delivered a keynote address on Trade Relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and France, highlighting the long-standing and close relationship between the two countries, underpinned by strong customs cooperation, efficient logistics connectivity, and steady bilateral trade flows.
This presentation also came in the context of the recent official visit of H.M. King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to France, which further reinforced bilateral dialogue and demonstrated the shared commitment of both nations to strengthening economic, institutional, and strategic partnerships.
During his presentation, he emphasized how exchanges are driven by key sectors such as industry, aviation, pharmaceuticals, and aluminum, illustrating the complementarity between both economies. He also outlined Bahrain Customs’ innovative strategic initiatives supporting trade facilitation and business efficiency, including advanced digital systems, risk-based clearance processes, and the upcoming OFOQ 2 platform designed to accelerate procedures, enhance security, and strengthen supply-chain connectivity.
The conference gathered FCCIB Board Members, members, and guests, and concluded with an engaging Q&A session followed by a networking luncheon.
Warm thanks to H.E. Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Alkhalifa for his valuable insights, and to all participants for contributing to the success of this event.
