Zero audit violations are praised

THE Shura Council was yesterday praised for “zero violations” in the 2019-2020 Administrative and Financial Audit Bureau report made public last week.

Shura chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh told his vice-chairmen and committee chairmen during the general-secretariat meeting, following the weekly session, that they now had a higher responsibility to maintain the record.

“We have worked for the people and the nation through the best practices possible and the evidence is that we have zero violations,” he said.

“The legislation we debate, the questions we direct to ministers and the committees we form and the reviews we make are all to improve people’s standards of living.”

Meanwhile, Shura Council members yesterday postponed a debate on the government’s closing financial statements for 2017 and 2018.

“The closing financial statements are not urgent. With huge efforts to complete the plants’ law, we can postpone it for next week’s session,” said Mr Al Saleh.
