Youths ‘playing major role in in Bahrain’s progress’
Bahrain Youth Day is celebrated to mark the prominent role they play in the country’s progress, said Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
He asserted that the celebration of the Bahrain Youth Day on March 25 reflects the distinguished status and interest enjoyed by youth in the kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad, who believes in the importance of youth in the development and building of the country.
Shaikh Khalid praised the efforts exerted by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to support Bahraini youth.
Shaikh Khalid asserted that the interest of the King’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and SCYS chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in Bahraini youth has contributed to attaining many successes for the youth sector, noting that Shaikh Nasser represents an example for Bahraini youth following his distinguished achievements.
Shaikh Khalid expressed pride in the landmark achievements of Bahraini athletes thanks to the efforts of the General Sports Authority and the Bahrain Olympic Committee.
Health Minister Dr Jalila Al Sayyed praised the Bahraini youth as the real asset of the nation and key contributors to building a brighter future for the posterity. She noted that Bahrain had mapped out comprehensive strategies to avail of the youth’s potentials in fast-tracking development.
The minister said that the kingdom’s celebration of Bahrain Youth Day is an occasion to highlight the vital role played by youngsters in the development and modernisation process. She added it is also an opportunity to renew pride in the youth’s contributions in various areas.
Information Affairs Minister Dr Ramzan Al Nuaimi hailed youth strides.
In a statement marking Bahrain Youth Day, he said “Bahrain Youth Day is an occasion to celebrate youth dedication, creativity and achievements.”
Dr Al Nuaimi praised Bahraini youth working in the media and Press sector, who succeeded in keeping abreast of media developments with competence.
