Works Minister announces 12 awarded projects for 2022

Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf announced that 30 tenders worth BD30,415,690 had been awarded during the first quarter of 2022.


They included 12 projects for the road sector, nine projects for sanitation, and nine projects for the construction and maintenance.


The minister stressed that the approved projects are within the ministry’s action plan to implement the government’s program to develop infrastructure, provide services that meet the aspirations and needs of citizens and contribute to the national economy.


Khalaf pointed out that the awarded projects for the road sector were worth BD19,218,697, the sanitation sector BD4,149,287, and the construction and maintenance BD12,829,363.


The ministry’s under implementation projects in the first quarter of this year reached 152 projects with a total value of BD711,987,332.


The minister stressed the ministry’s keenness to follow up on all projects to ensure their completion according to its scheduled time to meet the needs of citizens and residents in various regions of the Kingdom.
