WHO support for regional health praised

Health Minister Dr Jalila Al Sayyed praised the World Health Organisation (WHO) for its support for regional health issues.

She also affirmed Bahrain’s interest in implementing joint programmes and initiatives with the WHO as she met its Director General Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus, on the sidelines of the 76th session of the World Health Assembly (WHA) in Geneva.

The minister praised the WHO’s role in achieving comprehensive health, as reflected in the theme of the 76th session of WHA – WHO at 75: Saving lives, driving health for all.

Dr Ghebreyesus commended Bahrain’s health system, highlighting its achievements regarding the provision of high quality integrated preventive and treatment services for all the citizens and residents.
