Manama: The government yesterday pledged to achieve tangible results and exert all efforts to meet citizens’ needs as the country battles the Coronavirus Disease.

This came as His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.

He lauded national efforts to contain and prevent the spread of the virus through a set of precautionary measures, which led to Bahrain winning global acclaim and praise from the World Health Organisation.

The Premier and the Crown Prince stressed that no matter how heavy the challenges are, Bahrain – under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad and with the solidarity of its people – is determined to overcome them all.

The government had recently announced a BD4.3 billion economic stimulus package to offset the financial impacts of the pandemic.

Bahrain and the rest of the world are facing an unprecedented situation owing to the coronavirus outbreak and the circumstances demand doubled efforts, the Premier and the Crown Prince said, adding that commitment to national responsibility is the need of the hour.

The leaders valued dedicated efforts to ensure the safety of the nation and its citizens, noting that such endeavours have showcased the unity and strength of Bahrain’s residents, as well as their solidarity in confronting dangers and challenges.

They asserted that Bahrain is capable of overcoming the current phase thanks to the awareness and co-operation of everyone in the kingdom to meet the national aspirations for safety, stability and progress.

The Prime Minister and the Crown Prince reviewed a number of local issues, as well as the progress of a number of development projects in Bahrain.
