Utility bills for Bahrainis waived for another 3 months

The Government will shoulder electricity bills for Bahrainis with one household for three more months.

The Cabinet has also agreed to pay 50pc of Bahrainis' wages in the most affected sectors for three more months.

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has tasked Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan to issue necessary rules in co-ordination with other relevant authorities for July, August and September.

Tamkeen's Business Continuity Programme will also resume for three additional months under guidelines determined by its board.

It follows orders by His Majesty King Hamad following consultation with the National Assembly and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
