TRA to host two regional spectrum management events

Manama, Aug. 30 (BNA): The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) announced the hosting of two major Spectrum management events in Bahrain.

The 31st Arab Spectrum Management Group (ASMG) Meeting will be followed by the eagerly awaited 7th MENA Spectrum Management Conference, which will be held on September 9-14.

The Arab Spectrum Group was established in 2001 to promote collaboration among its 22 member states in managing radio frequencies. It aims to coordinate spectrum-related matters at both the Arab and International Telecommunication Union (ITU) levels.

The main goal of the organization is to ensure that Arab countries are adequately prepared and capable of efficiently utilizing the available frequency spectrum resources. By adopting this approach, they aim to maximize productivity and enhance the overall quality of services.

The 31st ASMG meeting will focus on discussing the agenda items for the upcoming World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-23), aiming to solidify the positions of participating countries based on ITU-R activities and the requirements of Arab countries. It also aims to contribute to the WRC-23 agenda and set the agenda items for the subsequent World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-27).

The 7th MENA Spectrum Management conference will feature engaging sessions and workshops on a wide range of spectrum-related topics, with the key themes being: ‘The Future Shape of Satellite Systems’, ‘Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN)’, ‘Final Preparation for World Radiocommunication Conference 2023 (WRC-23)’, and ‘Spectrum Bands to Deliver The 6G Vision’.

Attendees can expect discussions, case studies, and presentations from renowned experts offering valuable insights into the latest spectrum management practices.

The Conference will serve as a platform for industry leaders, regulators, and industry stakeholders to discuss spectrum topics relevant to the MENA region and beyond.

Both events will provide a range of networking opportunities as well as exchanging knowledge, ideas, and best practices aimed at furthering the evolution of this field.
