Tourism Minister stresses private sector's pivotal role
Manama, Nov.2 (BNA): Two beaches located at Bahrain Bay beaches will be run in partnership with the private sectors, said the Minister of Tourism Fatima bint Jaffar Al Sairafi.
She announced the move as she participated in the second panel discussion themed "Role of the Private Sector in supporting vital sectors. She stressed the importance of partnership between the ministry and the private sector in supporting the contribution of the tourism sector in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and heralding new opportunities for youth.
She underscored the role of the private sector in investing in projects, which under the tourism strategy which aims to diversify and develop tourist attractions, promote activities and programs in an effort to attract the largest number of tourists to the Kingdom.
"Tourism activity is based on the role of the private sector in supporting all government initiatives and efforts to develop this vital sector", she said, stressing keenness on engaging private stakeholders in all plans and events. She revealed that new projects will be announced after the opening both beaches, noting that the private sector will have a pivotal role in these schemes.
