Top tech start-ups to represent Bahrain at Saudi business forum
Ten of Bahrain’s top technology start-ups will be representing the kingdom at the next edition of the Biban business forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Businesses specialising in technology segments including e-learning, robotics and artificial intelligence will have a chance to meet potential partners and customers at Saudi Arabia’s biggest small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) and entrepreneurship conference, which runs until March 13.
“Saudi Arabia is a booming market in the Middle East and one of Bahrain’s key trading partners, so showcasing Bahrain’s technology start-ups at this forum is an amazing opportunity for them,” Export Bahrain planning and market intelligence specialist Rabab Khalaf told the GDN.
Each start-up will have their own booth with the Export Bahrain space at the forum, where they can communicate with foreign buyers and close deals.
Export Bahrain will also be matching them with like-minded businesses and shadowing discussions to help them negotiate and close the deal.
“We will be sharing our knowledge and expertise with the entrepreneurs to help them expand their business internationally,” Ms Khalaf added.
“The latest advancements and business solutions from Bahrain’s tech sector will be highlighted in our space.”
More than 100,000 visitors are expected to attend the event, which will feature more than 350 international and local speakers.
Speakers will include top Saudi ministers like human resources and social development minister Ahmad bin Sulaiman Al Rajhi and municipal, rural affairs and housing minister Majid Al Hogail, as well as technology thought leaders like YouTube co-founder Steve Chen and GoDaddy MENA general manager Selina Bieber.
“This is where the private and public sectors come together, under one roof, to share extraordinary ideas and profound experiences revolving around business and entrepreneurship,” a Biban spokesperson said, in a statement.
“We will be showcasing innovations and breakthroughs, hosting talks and panel discussions, and holding workshops and competitions that inspire growth and embrace the culture of innovation. It’s a space that encourages dialogue and collaboration, filled to the brim with the most influential names in the industry.”
Alongside the forum, the Entrepreneurship World Cup finals will also be held at Biban this year, where 100 top start-ups from around the world will compete on-stage for a share of $1 million in cash prizes to take their companies to the next level.
