Top award to be conferred on frontliners

Bahrain’s success in confronting the Covid-19 pandemic is the result of the valuable directives of His Majesty King Hamad and the tireless efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, a top official said yesterday.

Cabinet Affairs Ministry Under-Secretary and Good Word Society honorary president Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa commended HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s wise leadership of the national taskforce which helped handle the pandemic at the health, economic and social levels.

In appreciation of the efforts of Bahraini professionals on the frontlines in combating Covid-19, Shaikh Isa said the 11th edition of his award for voluntary work will be dedicated for the second consecutive year to honour them.

He noted that the crisis, despite its severity, revealed Bahraini people’s initiative to volunteer and engage in humanitarian work disregarding risks.

The Shaikh Isa Bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for Voluntary Work is granted in September of each year, in conjunction with the Arab Volunteer Day celebrations.
