Supreme Council of Women and Central Bank of Bahrain discuss strengthening joint cooperation

Manama, June 13 (UPI) -- Sheikha Hassa Bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, a member of the Supreme Council of Women and chairman of the Council's Women in Financial Technology Committee, held a working meeting with The Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, Mr. Rashid Mohammed Al-Maraj, at the bank's headquarters.

During the meeting, they discussed strengthening joint cooperation with the aim of increasing bahraini women's presence in the field of financial technology, in line with the trends of the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women and the Financial Services Sector Development Strategy 2022-2026, which was announced by the Central Bank of Bahrain as one of the five key strategies in the economic recovery plan.

Her Highness Sheikha Hassa Bint Khalifa Al Khalifa began the meeting by explaining the most important achievements of the Women's Committee in Financial Technology since its formation at the end of 2020, with the mechanism of working its executive plan, which focuses on four axes: policies, service development, guidance, guidance and education, and knowledge management, praising its Highness during the meeting with the qualitative initiatives implemented by the Central Bank of Bahrain to support the work of the Committee.

For his part, the governor noted the work outputs of the Women's Committee in Financial Technology, which is one of the important tools for increasing the presence of Bahraini women in the financial and banking sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and one of the channels of effective cooperation in this area between the Central Bank of Bahrain and the Supreme Council of Women, expressing the bank's support for the work of the Committee, and its full willingness to do whatever it takes to integrate the product of its work into the plans for the development of the financial and banking services sector as a whole, especially as the sector moves towards transformation. Digital through the expansion of the digital and financial technology sectors.
