Strategic partnerships ‘vital for oil and gas sector’

His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs, and Oil and Gas Holding Company (nogaholding) chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has stressed the importance of building strategic partnerships and co-operation and exchanging experiences to advance the oil and gas sector.

This came as he held meetings with representatives and heads of international companies in the oil and gas sector, including Bechtel, APA Corporation, Chevron, Palantir Technologies and Eni, on the sidelines of their participation in the ‘CERAWeek 2023’.

The meetings were in line with the vision of His Majesty and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to secure the kingdom’s energy needs in the future, and achieve the net-zero targets set out during the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26).

Shaikh Nasser highlighted the importance of Bahrain accords on the national energy strategy, its pivotal role in the local sector’s growth and building a sustainable future free of carbon emissions.

He outlined Bahrain’s achievements in developing the oil and gas sector, and the importance of exploring more opportunities that ensure the continuity of the sector’s development and growth through the application of the latest technologies and qualitative innovations that would boost the efficiency of infrastructure and protect the environment.

He also stressed the kingdom’s keenness to provide sustainable and safe energy supplies in line with the sustainability goals and the Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
