STAY ALERT: Public urged to maintain precautionary measures

MANAMA: Bahrain is pulling out all the stops to protect public health – but the public must maintain precautionary measures during the Covid pandemic, said the Crown Prince yesterday.

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, was chairing a meeting of the Government Executive Committee, held remotely, where he reaffirmed that Bahrain has mobilised the full strength of its resources to safeguard public health and overcome obstacles imposed by the global spread of Covid-19, under the leadership of His
Majesty King Hamad.

He stressed that at this current stage of the pandemic, the responsibility of each member of Bahraini society is to protect themselves, their family and their community through strong commitment to precautionary measures and official public health guidelines.

The Crown Prince reiterated that Bahrain continues to develop policies to mitigate the virus, and expressed appreciation for the dedicated efforts of Team Bahrain to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

Following consideration of a report submitted by the National Medical Task Force to Combat the Coronavirus, headed by Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, who is also Supreme Council for Health chairman, a decision was taken directing the task force to set mechanisms to expand the wearing of face masks in public.
