Stability and prosperity aim
His Majesty King Hamad has participated in a consultative meeting hosted by UAE President Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, the Amir of Qatar Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Jordan’s King Abdullah and Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi also participated.
The meeting, ‘Prosperity and Stability in the Region’, in Abu Dhabi sought to deepen co-operation between their countries in all areas that serve progress, prosperity and stability in the region through further joint action and regional complementarity.
The leaders discussed co-ordination to fulfil the aspirations of their peoples for a future in which the region will enjoy further development, progress and prosperity.
They also reviewed regional and international issues and developments of shared interest as well as the political, security and economic challenges facing the region.
The meeting discussed the importance of strengthening joint Arab action in tackling the challenges.
The leaders emphasised the deep-rooted ties between their countries and their keenness on communication, consultation and continuous co-ordination towards various transformations in the region and the world.
They stressed that building economic and development partnerships both between their countries and at the Arab level in general are the gateway for achieving development in a turbulent world.
They affirmed their common vision to promote stability in the region.
They stressed the importance of adhering to the rules of good neighbourliness and respecting the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of the countries of the region.
