Social Development Minister enhances support to NGOs

Riyadh, Aug. 9 (BNA): Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al Asfoor, the Social Development Minister, met with Soltan Aljorais, the Saudi Deputy Minister of Social Security at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development during his visit to Saudi. 

 

The meeting reviewed cooperation and partnership in the field of nonprofit organizations (NGOs).

 

The Saudi Deputy Minister highlighted the national project "National Donations Platform" and its strategic goals, contributing to achieving the Saudi Vision 2030 for enabling a healthy life, activating the partnership between the governmental and nonprofit sectors, and governing donation management to reach beneficiaries easily.

 

They also discussed enabling nonprofit organisations (NPO) to develop financial resources and gather donations as well as the features and positive outcomes of the national platform on the nonprofit sector and community development.

 

The Bahraini delegation was briefed on the initiatives Saudi Arabia is implementing to enhance the role of NPOs, including the "Organisations Support Fund" which supports community development and the nonprofit sector by developing their resources, investments, and partnerships for financial sustainability and social impact.

 

The meeting reviewed the fund’s adjectives that aim to support the programmes and projects, which contribute to developing and enhancing the growth of organisations, improving their capacities, and supporting employee training. It also assists startup  organisations in capacity building and goal achievement.
