Six more health centres to remain open 24 hours

MANAMA: Six more health centres will be open 24 hours a day, bringing those operating around the clock to nine across the kingdom.

This follows directives by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Prime Minister, to further strengthen the development and efficiency of the kingdom’s health sector.

Primary Health Care Centres chief executive officer Dr Jalila Al Sayed affirmed that the nine health centres will be fully equipped to work around the clock, providing medical coverage for the immediate treatment of urgent cases related to family medicine.

Incoming cases would also be referred as emergency cases to hospitals, if necessary, as ambulances would be operating at some of the centres.

The nine health centres are North Muharraq Health Centre, BBK Centre (Muharraq Governorate), the Hamad Kanoo Health Centre, Yousif Engineer Health Centre and Jaw Askar Centre (Southern Governorate), the Sitra Health Centre and Jidhafs Health Centre (Capital Governorate) and the Mohammed Jassim Kanoo Health Centre and the Shaikh Jaber Health Centre (Northern Governorate).

Dr Al Sayed thanked Supreme Council for Health chairman Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and Health Minister Faeqa Al Saleh for implementing the directives of HRH the Crown Prince Prime Minister aimed at boosting the efficiency of quality health services to all.
