Shops at Seef Malls to reopen tomorrow

MANAMA: Seef Properties will re-open commercial shops at its malls tomorrow, after two weeks of closure that began on March 26.

The announcement yesterday came after the government on Tuesday allowed certain shops to re-open until April 23.

The mall operator said all of the shops at Seef Malls in Seef District, Muharraq and Isa Town will be open from noon to 8pm daily, while financial institutions, optical shops, pharmacies and government entities will operate daily from 10am to 10pm, and from 10am to 11pm on weekends.

The Carrefour hypermarket at Seef Mall in Muharraq will continue to operate daily from 8am until midnight.

Meanwhile, restaurants and cafes will continue offering takeaway and delivery services only, while cinemas, beauty salons, fitness and entertainment centres will remain closed.

Salespeople as well as customers are expected to follow precautionary measures, including wearing face masks and gloves as well as social distancing.

All shops are required to implement sanitising and disinfection, prevent congestion and allocate a designated waiting area for customers outside the shops.

Seef Properties also said a special emergency team has been set up to ensure the safety of mall visitors, shoppers and employees and to deal with emergencies.

The company confirmed that none of its malls has recorded any cases of Covid-19.

Hand sanitisers have been fixed in all common areas at the malls, while security guards continue to monitor shoppers and visitors to ensure they maintain social distancing in order to limit the spread of the disease.
