Shaikh Nasser highlights Bahraini youth’s success

MANAMA: Numerous successes achieved by young Bahraini men and women across several fields were highlighted by His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

In a keynote speech at the opening of the 2020 Youth Summit organised by the Youth and Sports Affairs Ministry, he stressed the significance of conversing with young people to help find inspirational solutions to challenges faced by several sectors in the kingdom.

He told participants that the King’s great support and attention to the youth have contributed to Bahrainis’ achievements and empowered them.

“Accomplished and ambitious youth are the most secure asset for a promising future, and as such, they are at the core of the institutional work. Bahrain is rich with its youth,” Shaikh Nasser said.

“Two years ago, we launched the National Programme for the Development of the Youth and Sports Sector in order to meet the demands of young Bahrainis and their aspirations for a better future and in line with the vision of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. We pledged to the Crown Prince that young Bahrainis would be effective Team Bahrain members and follow the approach set to achieve Bahrain’s economic vision 2030.”

He stressed that the goal was to make Bahrain the capital of youth and sports and to highlight Bahrain and its great development.

“Our investment in the youth has yielded greater results in a short period of time, in the form of youth achievements in entrepreneurship, literature, arts, sports and various other fields. All this proves that the Bahraini is gold.

“Bahraini youngsters are passionate about challenges and achievements, and have a role to build the future and take advantage of their capabilities and skills to provide positive support for every sector that needs it,” Shaikh Nasser said.

“We do confirm that there is no ‘impossible’ with betting on ambitious Bahraini youth. We have invited 350 young men and women among the finest Bahraini youth from youth empowerment centres across the kingdom’s governorates and local universities to participate in the sessions with the ministers who will review the challenges facing their sectors.”
