Shaikh Nasser contributes BD1m towards Covid-19 fight

His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa will donate BD1 million from his personal account to support Bahrain’s national campaign against the coronavirus pandemic.

This is in line with the King’s instructions and endeavour of the Cabinet, chaired by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and the extraordinary efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.

Shaikh Nasser – also National Security Adviser, Supreme Council for Youth and Sport chairman and Royal Humanitarian Foundation board of trustees chairman – made the announcement on his personal Instagram account to boost the #There_is_Good_in_Us campaign.

Shaikh Nasser launched the initiative to encourage all organisations and institutions to play a role in combating the virus.

He pointed out that his donation comes to bolster Bahrain’s noble efforts to fight the virus and enable it to stand strong against financial and social challenges that have arisen as a result of the pandemic.

The #There_is_Good_in_Us campaign is in line with the Crown Prince’s vision to refresh the national economy, he said.

He explained that donating to this campaign is a national duty for everyone to fight the virus and safeguard the health and well-being of all the citizens and residents in Bahrain.

“We are all keen to avoid any negative impact on our economy which will remain in its natural position thanks to the wise vision of the King,” Shaikh Nasser explained.

He appreciated efforts exerted by the government to battle the pandemic and its keenness to provide support to medical teams, thanks to which Bahrain has become an example to follow for the World Health Organisation and the world.

“We have to work with a one-team spirit with Team Bahrain to face the current challenges and offer all the required support to demolish the virus.

“We have to work together against this pandemic,” he added.

He praised all those who have contributed to the campaign which has been well-received by all the companies and government entities.
