SEA, Alba sign MoU

Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA)’s President Dr. Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba)'s Chairman of the Board of Directors Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa during a virtual ceremony.

The MoU aims to enhance cooperation in clean energy and reducing carbon emissions projects and encourage investment in solar energy projects.

Dr. Mirza expressed his appreciation to Alba’s last year achievement that contributed in advancing the Kingdom’s economy, praising the company’s recent initiative to establish a solar energy park.

The SEA president affirmed the authority’s keenness to support various private and public sectors to benefit from renewable energy applications, projects, technologies and solutions to improve energy efficiency in line with the national goal of zero-carbon by 2060.

Alba’s chairman expressed his gratitude in the partnership with the SEA according to the outcomes of the United Nations Climate Change Conference, which Bahrain participated in under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

“Alba Solar Park (with a capacity of more than 5 MW) is one of the company’s important strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects to create sustainable values all around Bahrain,” Shaikh Daij said.
