Schools agree to slash fees, minister tells Cabinet

A number of private schools have agreed to slash fees between five and 10 per cent, it was revealed during the Cabinet’s weekly session.

Education Minister Dr Majid Al Nauimi said today that the schools have also agreed to postpone the first semester payments until September.

The schools have also agreed to reschedule payments for parents who are unable to pay at present.

Parents have been exempt from paying for transportation, meals, extra circular activities and others from April to June with payments returned or calculated for next year.

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa also instructed the Cabinet to look into the circumstances of kindergartens and those working there.
