Royal directives on Khatwa Programme ‘being implemented’
The Social Development Ministry and the Social Insurance Organisation (SIO) have started implementing the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, during the weekly Cabinet meeting, to accept applications from those who meet the legal requirements of the Khatwa Programme for Home Projects for eligibility for a retirement pension.
The ministry and the SIO praised HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s order, noting that it reflects his constant interest in providing all aspects of social protection for the citizens.
They indicated that co-ordination will continue to implement HRH Prince Salman’s order to assess submitted applications and accept them in accordance with the legal frameworks and requirements.
The Cabinet approved a memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the report submitted by the team responsible for researching aspects of the Khatwa Programme for Home Projects. The Cabinet also approved the recommendation from the same committee that the National Audit Office conduct a review of aspects of the programme’s registration and retirement procedures.
The Cabinet also discussed and approved the following memorandums:
1. A memorandum on an agreement between the Interior Ministry and Sulwan Hospital to offer treatment programmes and educational courses.
2. A memorandum on an agreement of co-operation between Bahrain and Kyrgyzstan in the fields of agriculture, livestock and fisheries.
3. A memorandum on the government’s response to three proposals and a law submitted by Parliament and a law by the Shura Council.
3. A memorandum by the Legal Affairs Minister on the legislative plan for 2024.
