Remote working urged

PRIVATE sector firms in the country have been urged to implement the remote working policy.

Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed Alzayani said last night that he believed the private sector would follow suit, especially since the government has already enacted the policy.

“We have started (remote working) in public entities and we urge the private sector to do the same, which is much needed in this situation,” he said.

“We are glad to see that a number of companies have already done this and we hope to see the numbers increasing this week.

“Moreover, with the temporary closure of commercial outlets we will definitely see a large number of private sector employees away from work.”
