Push to help local entrepreneurs

MANAMA: More than 5,000 people are set to take part in an online event in October to offer support and encouragement to Bahraini entrepreneurs.

Capital Governor Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa revealed details of the new-look annual ‘Manama Entrepreneurship Week’ during a virtual meeting with members of Seef Rotary Club.

Shaikh Hisham outlined the key technological methods taken to develop online events as the country responds to numerous Covid-19 challenges.

The event is set to feature 50 business experts from Bahrain and internationally, and feature a week of activities including 20 workshops.

“Participants will gets a chance to connect with local and international investors,” added a statement.

“The online event will also discuss working, studying and training remotely and e-business.”

An e-portal will also be set up by the governorate to offer backing to small and medium-sized businesses. It developed an app as part of social distancing initiatives needed in the battle to stop the spread of the virus.

More details of the sixth edition of Manama Entrepreneurship Week will be released shortly.
