Preparations for 2022 Manama Gold launched
Manama, Mar.25 (BNA): Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) held a meeting at the Exhibition World Bahrain with jewellers and discussed preparations for the second edition of Manama Gold Festival.
BTEA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Nasser Al Qaidi shed light on the objectives of the festival and plans to market the event and offer promotions and raffles for valuable prizes in cooperation with gold shops in the Manama suq.
Dr. Al Qaidi and gold traders stressed the importance of building on the success of the first edition which was held last year.
The traders commended BTEA’s quality initiatives offered to diversify the tourism product and contribute to reviving tourism in the Manama market, one of the oldest commercial markets in the region.
“The festival aims mainly to promote the Manama market as a preferred tourist destination and target citizens and residents of the neighboring Gulf markets”, said Dr. Al Qaidi.
A total of 203 gold shops took part in the 2022 edition of the festival, which attracted 1,549 customers from 12 nationalities, while sales topped BD1.25 million.
