POSITIVE SIGNS FOR APM TERMINALS BAHRAIN

APM Terminals Bahrain, which operates the country’s Khalifa Bin Salman port, has announced a very strong performance in the third quarter of 2020, with higher revenue in both the container and general cargo segments. Overall, the company’s revenues were up by 15.4% at BD 11.7 million for the three months, with operating profits up 23% at BD 3.6 million.

Imports for the BAPCO modernisation project in particular boosted activity at the port, while container business further increased due to the closure of the causeway to Saudi Arabia. This meant that traffic that formerly came into the country by road has had to switch to sea transportation routes.
