People urged to avoid large gatherings to stem spread of new variant of Covid-19
People were once again urged to avoid large gatherings to protect the entire community from the rapidly spreading new variant of Covid-19.
Health Ministry Under-Secretary Waleed Al Manea revealed that ignoring precautionary measures has led to the recent spike in cases.
He was speaking during a Press conference held at the Crown Prince Centre for Training and Medical Research at the BDF Hospital today.
"Our point isn't just to increase the number of recoveries but to also reduce the number of new cases which is more critical," he said.
"Precautionary measures are critical and must be seriously implemented without any relaxations.
"Bahrain has doubled its efforts to combat the pandemic and through contact tracing of more than 300,000 we have discovered that family gatherings and private events are the main reason for the spike in cases."
