Pension proposal
MANAMA: A parliamentary committee has completed investigation into pension funds and referred its final report to the Parliament Bureau, comprising about 50 recommendations and 10 conclusions and remarks.
Recommendations mainly include maintaining annual increment to retirees with pensions below BD500, forming a new qualified and experienced management team to run the Social Insurance Organisation, taking all legal measures to claim all dues owed by private companies and institutions, recovering written-off investments and conducting inspections on business owners subjected to the Social Insurance Law.
They also seek to review allowance disbursement mechanism, include expatriate workforce in pension funds and set a maximum salary for pension, while MPs should use their constitutional instruments in case of any negligence or violation, reports our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.
