Oman launches low-cost food boxes to ease coronavirus lockdown

Muscat: Oman has officially launched 'Ramadan Basket' an integrated food box which costs less than OMR10 to help the public tide over the lockdown measures put in place to curb the Novel Coronavirus.

The Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) box contains 19 different food items essential for families, the Times of Oman reported.

"PACP has provided food boxes in all shops, at a cost of less than OMR10, in order to meet the basic needs of families that are affected by the measures implemented to prevent the spread of coronavirus, including stopping many commercial activities," the authority said in a statement.
