Number of active Covid-19 cases expected to increase as authorities ramp up testing

A top official said the number of active Covid-19 cases will increase as authorities have ramped up testing procedures.

National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus (Covid-19) Monitoring Committee head Lieutenant Colonel Dr Manaf Al Qahtani said the increase in the number of cases was an indication that Bahrain is stepping up its screening process.

“We have extended the testing process including random tests that include citizens and expatriates,” Lt.Col. Dr Al Qahtani.

“I request families to change their social behaviour habits especially Ramadan due to this situation.”
