New fee cut plan for firms with 80pc Bahrainisation

MANAMA: Private companies and institutions with more than 80 per cent Bahrainisation rate could have their government service fees reduced by 50pc.

A proposal in this regard has been submitted by a number of MPs. The move aims to encourage the private sector to boost Bahrainisation of jobs and promote Bahraini citizens as the first choice of employment in the labour market, MP Bassem Al Maliki told our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.

“It also aims to ensure Bahrainisition quotas are updated according to labour market changes and indicators,” he said.

Commitment to Bahrainisation rates is now enjoying noticeable support among business owners and is part of government tender system requirements, he pointed out.
