New exhibition centre to host leading oil and gas events

MANAMA: The new Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre will host the 14th Middle East Geosciences Conference and Exhibition (GEO) alongside the Middle East Oil and Gas Show and Conference (MEOS), it has emerged.

Organisers of the two leading petroleum and geoscience exhibitions announced that the two events will be held from March 7-9, 2023, returning to their traditional timing in the first half of the year.

"We are excited to confirm that the event will now take place at the new Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre due to open in the second half of 2022, which will allow us to co-locate with the Middle East Oil & Gas Show (MEOS), enabling a more holistic gathering of the energy value chain in Bahrain," said a joint statement from Informa Markets, the exhibition organiser, and AAPG Middle East & Africa, the conference organiser.

"Furthermore, the co-location will provide a wider experience and value for visitors, delegates and exhibitors."

The announcement of the first major events at the venue comes just weeks after ASM Global was named the managing operator of the centre.

Billed as the region's largest exhibition and convention centre on a total site area of 309,000sqm, the new centre is set to bolster Bahrain's position as a leading business events hub internationally with a total build-up area of 149,000sqm.

With 95,000sqm of exhibition space over 10 halls, a 4,000-seat tiered auditorium, 95 meeting rooms, Royal and VIP majlis and a 250-seat restaurant, it can host a range of events from exhibitions and conventions to concerts, live events, weddings and seminars.
