Negotiations on draft state budget extended by four weeks

Negotiations on the draft state budget between the government and legislators have been extended by four weeks.

MPs unanimously approved a request to extended the deadline beyond February 7 presented by financial and economic affairs committee chairman Mahmood Al Bahrani during today’s weekly session of Parliament.

It follows the need for more time to secure financing in the 2021-2022 national budget as agreed between the two sides.

A meeting on the budget between both parties will be held tomorrow.
