NBB’s Ramadan drive helps 7,500 Bahraini families

Staying true to its promise to stay close to the needs of the community, and as part of its Ramadan drive, the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) distributed coupons to 57 local charities and associations registered with the Ministry of Labour and Social Development.

This annual initiative aims to provide Bahraini families in need with added support to help them prepare for the holy month and has been part of NBB’s Donations and Contributions Programme since 2004, which is dedicated to providing for the less privileged members of the local community.

The coupons are to benefit more than 7,500 Bahraini families, who will be able to redeem them at a number of supermarkets across the kingdom. This year, in light of the challenging situation, NBB has increased its collaboration to include more supermarkets and has extended its reach to cover more households and associations, than in previous years.

Commenting on this initiative, Farouk Yousif Almoayyed, Chairman of NBB said: “Being the nation’s Bank, and an integral member of the local community, we have a vital role to play in staying close to the needs of those who are less fortunate by providing some relief to Bahraini families and households to

enable them to better prepare and celebrate the holy month of Ramadan, which is an important occasion for the entire country. Giving back to the community has been engrained in our DNA ever since the inception of the Donations and Contributions Programme back in 1980; and we remain committed to reaching out to the less privileged in the community to lend a helping hand through such initiatives.” -- Tradearabia News Service
